Interpretation panel at the National Botanic Gardens of Wales

In the winter of 2012/13 the Botanic Gardens of Wales launched the ambitious, on-going project “Conserving Welsh Plants”, with the aim to display the flora of four different Welsh National Nature Reserves. Four raised beds were designed to house the individual species; trial and spare species were also propagated and cultivated in the experimental “protocol beds”.
I was involved in the earliest stages of the project’s development. We carried out all the preliminary hard landscaping and backbone planting, as well as the design and installment of the raised beds. A personal project of mine was the design of a didactic panel of the area illustrating a masterplan and overall concept of the new Welsh Compound.
