After long late-nights of reading and day-dreaming, my Gran Tour to the English gardens began with the admission in The Professional Gardeners’ Guild Traineeship, a well sought-after scheme of practical horticulture. I vividly remember the day of my interview when after a car, a plane, a train and a ferry, I set foot on the Isle of Wight. All that mileage wasn’t in vain: three fantastic years followed, each of them spent in a different garden in the UK, as the tradition of the scheme prescribes.
During my time with the PGG Traineeship, I worked at Osborne House (Isle of Wight), The National Botanic Gardens of Wales (Carmarthenshire) and Highgrove Gardens (Gloucestershire).
